Tree planting is the most basic thing that we can do to help Mother Earth.
In the Philippines, the forest cover is fast depleting which is a very sad development. We urge everyone to reverse this trend and get our acts together. At least, we can plant a tree or help projects like the UPV Centennial Forest Project.
The Centennial Forest is a reforestation initiative of the UPV Beta Sigma Fraternity Alumni Association. You can visit the site for more info about the project.
Planting a tree is a way of making our voices heard in the fight against global warming and environment destruction. It is an act that will benefit the future generation.
When you plant a tree, it helps Mother Nature in more ways than you know.
Trees…
- are natural filter against air pollution
- help in water recycling
- prevent soil erotion
- provide you with shade to keep you cool
- are natural protection against strong winds and rain
- shelter the animals
- are sources of food, especially the fruit-bearing ones.
- can serve as inspiration for the community to maintain and protect the environment
- if you can think of other things that trees can bring, post it here.
Trees provide life. Without them, we could not exist on the planet.
